Travelling to the site

For guests from far away we can offer pick-ups from Skavsta airport (Ryanair airport south of Stockholm) and from the nearest local commuter train station (Gnesta). Both of these are 25-35 minutes from the site by car. We will charge 100 SEK per person for the pick-up (one way).

We can of course also pick up people that are travelling from within Sweden. But we ask you to try to find people to carpool with first.

From Arlanda

If you fly in to Arlanda (the main Stockholm international airport) you can easily take a direct bus or express train in to the central station and change to the commuter train (pendeltåg) to Gnesta station.

Travel time between Arlanda-Gnesta by train including ample time to switch trains at the central station is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. The commuter train isn’t known for its speed. For getting around Stockholm the tube is recommended, and the SL site has an excellent travel-planning app that shows routes and times. For getting from Arlanda you will have to check SL (commuter trains/pendeltåg) SJ (trains/tåg) or Arlanda Express (express trains/express tåg) for trains and Flygbussarna for the bus times.

If you go by Arlanda Express train you have to change at Stockholms central to Södertälje hamn (Södertälje harbour) and then from there to Gnesta.
It will take approx 20 minutes Arlanda – Stockholm C and the whole trip about 1-2 hours to Gnesta. 

It is also possible to take the commuter train (pendeltåg) all the way from Arlanda airport to Gnesta.
It will take approx 2 hours to Gnesta.

More information about trains from Arlanda Airport can be found here and more about buses from here. Please notice, that while the trains are more expensive than the bus, they are also a much faster and easier way to get to the site, especially if you are arriving late.

Renting a car – Arlanda

Another option if there are several of you travelling together is to rent a car for the weekend and drive which is easy and probably cheaper if you are three people or more. There are several car rental services in Arlanda.

From Skavsta

You have to take the local buses if you are to travel from Skavsta to Rockelstad.

You can get one from Skavsta and you can calculate the price on these pages. It is also possible to get one from the airports Arlanda and Bromma but it will be much more expensive.
